addedThis means: completely new graphic style, smoother gameplay, less gamebreaking events and bosses with variation (!)
addedYou might think: I'm probably the only one reading this, who in hell would buy that? First things first: I will replace the existing app on your steam cloud (because you probably wanted to free 25mb on your pc) with a completely new engine.

I'm probably the only one reading this, who in hell would buy that?

First things first

I will replace the existing app on your steam cloud (because you probably wanted to free 25mb on your pc) with a completely new engine.

Details/Pros/Changes:

  • New visual style (vector images)

  • More items

  • Made in Gamemaker Studio 2

  • Achievements

  • More monsters

  • More bosses & variety in their attacks/appearance

  • Bosses not being direct clones of existing games (*cough* Monstro from TBoI)

  • No deadline (might be controversial, but now I can actually work on something that I love)

  • No team members (they did 1% of the work and I couldn't rely on them)

  • Better combat system

  • Better animations

  • Less brown

  • Split screen support (?)

Updates coming later, I'm having exams at the moment, but I'm quite motivated about this. The game was rushed in a year, with no clear idea what I was trying to achieve. The lack of content and how hard the game was was a letdown. I'm the one with the most playtime on this (< 1 hour) and had a hard time after this terrible release.

Also, I'm studying indie game design this year, and I've learned quite a bit. The coding of Arch Drift was messy (you should see the item engine :S).

Now I have a clear goal in mind.

Thank you for reading this Yours sincerely Michiel Blancquaert
