Arcade World Cups changes
Launch day is finally here. So much learning, so many hours of designing, testing, programming... and many sleepless nights after waking up in the middle of the night. The greatest satisfaction is setting a goal and achieving it right on time.
A scaled-down version that grew massive I couldn't have imagined this back when I was messing around with Pico-8 and wondered what a Tehkan World Cup demake would look like. I built the prototype in Godot, and it evolved into a version for both mobile and PC. Not only that: it became my very first published game.
My ambition only went as far as recreating the classic mode, but it was my son Juan who suggested adding the World Cup along with different leagues and cups. And he didn't just suggest it: he took charge of the database and drew every single crest and flag in the game.
We arrived just in time to catch the World Cup fever, which is about to begin. What's next I have a first free update planned for August featuring the League Mode, but it's already finished and we are currently testing it. I will soon enable access to the League Mode in its beta phase, so we can all test it together. The Argentine league is available with the fixture schedule for the tournament starting in the second half of the year, alongside the Spanish, English, German, Italian, and French leagues with the real fixtures of the season that just ended. As soon as the new schedule becomes available, we will update it so you can play the upcoming season.
If you find any bugs, have suggestions, or want to share your feedback, please feel free to use any of our channels.
Thank you for joining this adventure, and see you on the pitch!
