Ancient Wars: Medieval Crusades changes
Greetings, Strategists!
First and foremost, thank you all for your continued support and for helping build such an amazing community!
We’re excited to bring you a brand-new update for Ancient Wars: Medieval Crusades, packed with new maps, smarter AI systems, expanded customization options, and several gameplay improvements designed to make battles deeper and more dynamic than ever.
🆕 New Features & Content
2 New Maps Added Expand your battlefields with two brand-new maps:
(2) Free Lands
(8) Ancient Gorges
⚙️ New Automation Systems Vehicles such as camels and elephants now automatically engage and charge nearby enemies when no direct orders are given, making battles feel smoother and more responsive.
🧠 Different Attack Modes Take full control of your army’s behavior with new combat stances:
Aggressive
Defensive
Hold Position
Passive
Adapt instantly to the battlefield and execute more precise strategies.
🛠️ Refined Item Gathering Workers can now be ordered to collect specific weapons and items from the battlefield, giving you greater strategic precision.
🎭 Dynamic Taunts System The battlefield just got more alive!
AI players now taunt dynamically during gameplay
Players can trigger unique civilization-specific taunts using chat codes 101–117
⚙️ New Match Customization Options
Further personalize your matches with new settings:
Gold Collection Multiplier – Control the pace of the economy and tailor matches to your preferred playstyle
Nearby Ally Spawn Option – In team games, allies can now spawn closer together for improved coordination
This system also works on community-created maps, giving map creators more flexibility when designing custom scenarios.
🏰 Major AI Improvement – AI Walls The AI can now build defensive walls and station troops on them when it determines this is the best strategic choice, creating more challenging and adaptive opponents.
🐞 Bug Fixes & Improvements
Fixed an issue where Crusader units equipped with ranged weapons and the Self Sacrifice ability could remain on the battlefield after death while the ability was active
Additional performance improvements have also been made to ensure a smoother gameplay experience.
