Not a clone.

Since I did the game anounce a lot of people asked about is this game a clone of "Metal gear acid" (MGA) or "Warhammer 40k: Spacewolf" (W40kS)? Answer is no, it's not a clone.

What changed

  • Balance
  • Gameplay
changedThe next difference is movement. In MGA and W40kS heroes use cards to walk and it means that price of the movement equally price of a card. In ALTTA every hero has 4 action points (AP) and every cell movement price is 1 AP. It means that hero can move to 4 cells maximum during his turn.
changedOne more difference is actions. In MGA and W40kS there are 2 actions at turn, hero can use 2 cards for movement, attack, etc. In ALTTA every hero have 4 AP and player can do any sequence of movements, attacks, etc. For example the first hero moved on 1 cell after that the second one attacked someone, the third hero did something, after that the first hero can use cards or move again and other heroes too, of course if they have any AP and cards. So in ALTTA player can create his own sequence of movements/attacks/hero/etc.

Since I did the game anounce a lot of people asked about is this game a clone of "Metal gear acid" (MGA) or "Warhammer 40k: Spacewolf" (W40kS)? Answer is no, it's not a clone. In these games there are basic very similar things — turn based battles and cards with a deck instead of weapons, but there are a lot of differences.

  • At first in "Ancient lands: the Tsar awakening" (ALTTA) there's no effort system, all heroes do movements and actions during their turn and all enemies do their stuff in enemy turn.

  • The next difference is movement. In MGA and W40kS heroes use cards to walk and it means that price of the movement equally price of a card. In ALTTA every hero has 4 action points (AP) and every cell movement price is 1 AP. It means that hero can move to 4 cells maximum during his turn.

These are the basic differences of these games, I hope that these mechanics will be interesting to the players. Thanks for your attention.
