What changed

0 fixes1 addition3 changes0 removals
  • Gameplay
  • UI and audio
  • Events
addedWhen we first started on Anchored Hearts , we knew what we wanted to make an adventure about a "pirate queen", with heart-throbbing romance, written by Anna and Catherine. But it didn't stop there for us, because any game published by Lovewish has to have more than story alone. Alex and Lorna worked hard to develop an early prototype for what now have become our ship battles... and so the foundation of Anchored Hearts bloomed into existence.
changedOver the year that followed, we worked hard to bring the narrative together with the gameplay, while at the same time allowing each to stand on its own merit.
changedWith passion come fiery discussions, as the team drank rum beverages, threw dice at each other, and covered an eye with an eyepatch. There were even unrelated injuries that knocked out our UI artist! High drama! (OK only about half of that is true.)
changedBut we took the game to events and saw people play it, and wow we were blown away by the response. At one event, someone played the demo from start to finish, and told everyone on the bus home how much they loved it - so the next day all their friends turned up to play it too! 💖 It was so touching and really meant the world to us that something we made was loved so much.

Ahoy me lovelies! 🦜

At long last, Anchored Hearts: A Tale of Destiny is now ready to play! ✨

Our little team has poured a lot of love into this game over the past year, with many trials and tribulations along the way... but finally here it is.

When we first started on Anchored Hearts, we knew what we wanted to make an adventure about a "pirate queen", with heart-throbbing romance, written by Anna and Catherine. But it didn't stop there for us, because any game published by Lovewish has to have more than story alone. Alex and Lorna worked hard to develop an early prototype for what now have become our ship battles... and so the foundation of Anchored Hearts bloomed into existence.

Over the year that followed, we worked hard to bring the narrative together with the gameplay, while at the same time allowing each to stand on its own merit.

With passion come fiery discussions, as the team drank rum beverages, threw dice at each other, and covered an eye with an eyepatch. There were even unrelated injuries that knocked out our UI artist! High drama! (OK only about half of that is true.)

Many times over the past year, we were not sure if the combination of narrative + ship battles would make people happy, or put them off. Would the battles be too much for people who prefer visual novels? Would the narrative be too much for people who prefer roguelites?

But we took the game to events and saw people play it, and wow we were blown away by the response. At one event, someone played the demo from start to finish, and told everyone on the bus home how much they loved it - so the next day all their friends turned up to play it too! 💖 It was so touching and really meant the world to us that something we made was loved so much.

We set sail into the unknown, and it has been a long voyage for us. There have been calm seas, and stormy seas, but we hauled our treasure all the way here, and now we dock at the port to share our treasure with you.

Hope you have a great time playing Anchored Hearts: A Tale of Destiny and please leave a review to let us know what you think!

Arrrr! Fair winds to ye! 🦜
