Hi everyone,

First of all, thank you so much to everyone who played the demo of An Eggstremely Hard Game. It has been amazing to see you having fun… and breaking so many eggs.

My main goal as a developer is to deliver the best possible experience, so I’m constantly reading your feedback and trying to improve the game step by step.

Over the past week, I’ve been working on a small update that introduces some requested changes and fixes several issues.

Here’s what’s new in version 0.2.0:

Match Settings Menu (NEW)

A new Match Settings Menu has been added and can be accessed from the lobby screen.

  • Available in Local Co-Op

  • Available in Online Co-Op (host only)

This menu allows you to adjust several useful gameplay settings, detailed below.

Client Input Delay Improvements

Some players reported experiencing noticeable input delay when playing online.

First, please make sure you are playing in the correct region. If input delay persists, a new experimental option may help.

Why does input delay happen?

Input delay can occur due to how your router establishes a connection with the match host.

In most cases, players can connect directly to the host and the delay is minimal. However, in some situations (depending on router configuration), a direct connection isn’t possible and a relayed connection is used instead, which increases input delay.

New system to reduce input delay

A new option called “Reduce Input Delay on Clients” has been added to the Match Settings Menu.

  • Default: Off

  • Optional: Turn On if you experience heavy input delay

When enabled, this system allows client players to control their character instantly, improving responsiveness and movement precision.

Please note: this feature is experimental and may cause minor visual desync issues on the client side. I recommend enabling it only if you really need it.

Easy Mode

I noticed that some players were struggling a lot to complete the demo, so I’ve added an Easy Mode option in the Match Settings Menu.

Easy Mode includes:

  • More checkpoints throughout the level

  • A limit on how far the egg can be launched

This mode is ideal for players who prefer a more relaxed experience and want less rage during the demo.

Pan Heat System Rework

Many players were confused by the pan heat system.

Previously, the boiling effect could be mistaken for the egg being damaged, when in reality it only indicated proximity to an obstacle.

To make this clearer, the system has been updated:

  • The pan now smoothly changes color from black to red based on proximity to obstacles

  • Fire and boiling effects now appear only after hitting an obstacle, and last for a few seconds

This should make the mechanic much easier to understand at a glance.

Bug Fixes

The following issues have been fixed:

  • In rare cases, the death-to-respawn transition effect remained visible on clients during gameplay. Fixed.

  • The pan fire SFX volume was not updating correctly when adjusting the audio sliders. Fixed.

  • Some lobby codes failed when entered manually. Fixed.

That’s all for this update.

For future patches, if you have suggestions or find any bugs, please report them on the Discord server. Your feedback really helps improve the game.

Thank you again for your support, and have a great day!

Adri
