This is the beginning of the end of Dalia's journey into the heart of The Cluster.

The Beginning...

⚠ Please note: spoilers included for Ambrosia Sky: Act One. ⚠

Dalia came home. It’s her first time back at the Cluster in 15 years. And she’s here to do a job. As a Scarab, her job is to clean up after catastrophic events, while cataloguing the DNA of the recently deceased.

To say this is complicated for Dalia is an understatement. She left quickly, and without telling a soul, 15 years ago. She’s not spoken to anybody since. Not her stepmother, Hale, nor Maeve, her former best friend and love of Dalia’s life.

As Dalia uncovered the mystery behind this catastrophe, she learned what had happened to the people she used to know. She learned Hale is still running the Cluster, and people are, to put it mildly, highly suspicious of her. Hale can’t so much as sneeze without pissing somebody off, and that’s all her own doing. Dalia has complicated emotions about her stepmother, but she knows she’ll eventually have to find Hale.

But Hale was not Dalia’s priority. At first, just doing her job was. She cleaned up the fungus and fulfilled odd requests from the Scarabs. As a Scarab, she knew it was her job to collect the DNA of consenting individuals who recently died. But why did the Scarabs want Dalia to collect pieces of the leviathan, the dead beast that the Cluster was built on? Why did the Scarabs want the bio-engineered seeds the Cluster botanists were working on? Dalia’s suspicions of her employer grew the more they asked her to do things not in her purview. Dalia didn’t like feeling like she was grave robbing her home.

As Dalia’s faith in the Scarabs began to dwindle, her focus turned back to who it inevitably always would: Maeve. While Dalia learned that most people she knew were dead, her first love and best friend, Maeve, was still alive. And that Maeve was working on a cure for Clusterlung. But how and at what cost, Dalia didn’t know.

Act One ends with a cliffhanger. After being elusive, Maeve finally tried to contact Dalia. Her comms got garbled by interference from all the spores in the atmosphere, but one thing was clear: a change was happening to Maeve. Whether it’s Clusterlung or something else, Dalia doesn’t know.

The End...

Act Two begins with Dalia’s renewed sense of purpose. She’s not just here to do a job anymore, a job she is quickly losing faith in. Dalia’s here for Maeve, to make up for time lost and to find a way to forgive herself for leaving all those years ago.

Act Two is the narrative conclusion to Dalia’s story as established in Act One! As she closes in on the truth behind the disaster consuming The Cluster, Dalia continues her search for her ex-girlfriend Maeve while laying the dead to rest and collecting DNA to advance research into human immortality. The final act resolves the major threads introduced in Act One but also expands the experience with brand-new mission locations that take Dalia deeper into the belly of the leviathan, forcing her to contend with stranger gravity and even stranger new fungal species, like the never-seen-before Corrupter and the beautiful Wyrdlight.
