Amanda the Adventurer 2 Library Puzzle Overhaul and Update

Thanks so much for your patience while the MANGLEDmaw team continues to work on improvements to Amanda the Adventurer 2.

This major update includes a major overhaul of the first puzzle in the game (the library database), fixing the Wooly tape disappearing, adding a skip cutscene option for the intro, and other critical bug fixes that make that pesky Pop-Up Book puzzle less of an issue. Let's dive into it!

The Library Database Puzzle Overhaul

MANGLEDmaw and DreadXP have heard the criticisms of the game's first puzzle loud and clear. It became clear that library database puzzle at the start of the game wasn't giving all players a positive experience and didn't reflect the team's intended experience as designed.

The puzzle has been significantly modified to give players a much better experience when starting Amanda the Adventurer 2. The path to solving the puzzle is now much smoother (and shorter) so everyone can start watching the first tape that much faster :)

Please note that this does change the solution of the puzzle as well, the code is not the same as before.

What about the previous version of the Library Database Puzzle?!

Just in case there's anyone who wants to be able to play the original version of the first puzzle of ATA2, we've created a separate branch on steam for anyone to access!

You can access the separate branch on steam by right clicking on the game in your steam library, and selecting "Properties...".

This will open a new window. On the left side, click on the "Betas" tab.

Enter the beta access code puzzle1classic into the text field, press the "Check Code" button on the right side, then press the large blue button that will appear if you've entered the code correctly.

This will give you access to version 1.0.4c, the last version before the Library Database Puzzle was changed.

You can see which beta branch (if any) you are on in the top right corner. Clicking on that dropdown will give you the option to set "Beta Participation" back to "None" so you can play the latest version of the game.

Hold to Skip - Intro Cutscene

The ability to press and hold any key to skip the intro cutscene has been added to speed up repeat playthroughs!

The team also squashed a bunch of pesky bugs! Read the list below for the full patch notes of version 1.0.5e.
