changedTo start, one of the first things you'll notice when launching the game is both the Main Menu and Lobby have been fully decorated for some extra holiday spirit . Both levels have had the lights turned down for a little bit of wintery atmosphere, the temperatures have dropped with a high chance of snow, and the foliage has turned to a beautiful late-autumn color. The house has been equipped with Christmas trees, lights, wreaths, and even a temporary change in music! Oh yeah, all characters have been given some holiday spirit as well.
changedAchievements are officially here! There is no better feeling than getting a one-tap and hearing that Steam reward sound, with a little pop-up "Achievement Unlocked: Eliminate 100 combatants" . It's one of those features that keeps me coming back to the grind in any game I play. Well, the wait is over, and Alpha Point officially has 12 achievements of its own:
changedBeta Point : Win 1 Match
changedWeapons have received an upgrade! Previously, default weapons (the ones you spawn with) would not drop upon death. This was a no-brainer feature to add, and it was already added during development, but within a few minutes of gameplay, the map would quickly become littered with discarded weapons that no one wanted to use. So, I devised and implemented a solution -- default weapons now drop upon death, but will despawn if not picked up within 45 seconds. This affects not only weapons dropped upon death, but default weapons dropped in general. This means that if you drop your weapon in exchange for another, that dropped weapon will also despawn after the 45-second timer elapses. Weapons found around the map are not affected by this, and will remain dropped until match end.
addedIn addition to these major updates, there have been some small adjustments and new features as well. The Main Menu has received a 'Join the Community!' reminder , recommending everyone join the official Discord if unable to find an active game session. For those of you who hate pop-ups, this reminder has a little 'Do Not Show Again' box to hide it for the rest of time. In-game voice chat has received a quality-of-life fix , allowing players to hear and be heard even before spawning/after death. This, of course, does not apply to The Survival Games, where being able to speak after death could present a gameplay issue. Last but not least, there have been some adjustments to lighting on several maps that should help with "noisy" lighting , particularly around foliage.
