UPDATED BATTLE SYSTEM:

Basically, we made RECOVERing more interesting than just pressing the [X] key. You now have to return to Allium’s side of the screen and hover around a healing zone while still avoiding bullets. I have also limited the range of the player’s bullets… they will fade out after a certain distance, meaning you can’t just hit the enemy’s heart from across the whole screen; you’ll have to actually move towards it. Which, in turn, moves you further from the healing zone. Overall the goal isn’t necessarily to make the battles “harder”, just more involved. The fights are still pretty easy (especially for players who are experienced with bullet hells) on account of the fact that this is literally just the first fourth of the game. I’ve watched several people who are not that good at bullet hell games play this, and it seemed to be an appropriate level of difficulty for them, especially for the early game. For players looking for a challenge in this demo, you can seek out the secret boss fight, or attempt the alternate route.

KNOWN ISSUES (sorry):

> The 2 claw minigames are bugged, with the claw just plunging through all the plushies.

  • This only happens on certain computers though…? Probably has something to do with the physics plugin I’m using.

> The game doesn’t run on Linux / Steam Deck.

  • I’m not planning to build a version that does anytime soon… but maybe sometime. This app is built for Windows x64 systems.

> OBS doesn’t capture the window’s audio.

  • I have no idea why this is the case. However, you can record the game’s audio by capturing your full display audio in OBS.

> Discord does not stream the window’s audio.

  • Again, what the heck man. Similarly, you can stream the game’s audio if you stream your full display rather than just the specific game window.

> Weird things can happen with the game’s audio when unfocusing/focusing the window, or pausing it with wireless headphones.

  • i love coding

> That’s not how you spell Lollipop.

  • I know, that’s just her name. (I fixed the one instance where it wasn’t her name though)

> This game has a bunch of stupid typos and grammar errors.

  • Looks like somebody isn’t the target audience for this game.........

UNKNOWN ISSUES:

  • probably a lot...
