Alien Grounds is now out on Steam.
Thank you to everyone who played during Early Access, shared feedback, posted scores, and helped shape the game.
If you claimed the game before release, it is yours to keep forever. From today, Alien Grounds is a paid game.
Alien Grounds is a fast single-player sci-fi FPS built around short runs, weird weapons, relentless robots, and score chasing. Version 1.0 brings gameplay, visual, and leaderboard improvements across the game.
Fight through short, brutal missions, unlock strange weapons, and chase your place in the Hall of Fame.
What’s new in v1.0
Weapon unlock flow improved
The next weapon now unlocks at the end of Missions 1, 2, 3, 9, and 14
Each unlock now includes a UI announcement
Newly unlocked weapons can be briefly tested before the mission ends
Added a subtle weapon switch sound
Battlefields feel more alive
The last 20 dead bots now remain on the map as ragdolls
Oil decals for the last 20 defeated bots now last longer
Oil decal color has been adjusted
Leaderboard and competition updates
Added a new Hall of Fame tab to the Leaderboards UI
The Hall of Fame now shows the Top 3 winners from each completed monthly leaderboard
Added text hints to each leaderboard tab to better explain what it shows
Leaderboard competition continues from Early Access without interruption.
Map updates
Maps have been rearranged
The first map is now the inverted version of Iceport
Map names updated:
Dust -> Wasteland
Base -> Outpost
Midnight -> Frozen Ruins
Gameplay balance and fixes
Mission 1 now starts faster on Easy
Added initial pistol reserve ammo for Mission 1 on Easy and Medium, allowing more freedom to shoot and experiment early
Hard difficulty still keeps ammo tight
Fixed a bug where Health and Ammo pickups could multiply after player death
Visual and audio polish
Reduced Outpost map saturation for a more natural look
Changed the Colonnade sound effect on Ruins to make it less distracting
Updated the Controls screen for clearer input bindings
Alien Grounds is designed to be easy to get into, but hard to master. You can play casually, push for better runs, or compete for a place in the monthly Top 3 and the Hall of Fame.
Version 1.0 is out now, with more updates planned ahead.
Thank you for playing, and welcome to v1.0.
