changedStanding at around 10 feet tall, nosfu are strange and formidable creatures with senses far beyond human capability. They can hear sounds within an 8 mile radius, see across 10 miles, and have a sense of smell as acute as ours. Nosfu are aggressive herbivores, prepared to respond with violence against any predator that dares target them.
changedNosfu stand motionless through the night, only awakening at dawn to feed. This is a trait that often makes them vulnerable to attacks at night. Their behavior is highly strategic: rather than fleeing or launching a direct assault, a nosfu will first issue a deep, grunting warning sound to deter the predator. If the threat persists, it will release a scent-masking secretion from specialized pores, making itself invisible to beasts who rely on their noses to hunt.
changedIf further deterrence is necessary, the nosfu emits a low, resonant call, like a distant foghorn, to alert nearby nosfu. Within minutes, several nosfu will converge on the predator, surrounding it. This gathering is the predator’s last warning; if it persists, all of the nosfu will stomp it into submission.
