Airframe Ultra changes
In the Airframe Ultra Discord, we opened up a channel for players to ask questions and voted on which questions to send to Josh, one of the developers on Airframe Ultra!
What is the purpose and goal of the playtests?
These pre-release playtests help us gauge what is and isn’t working with the design, balance, and flow of the game. They also help us get more eyes on the game to spot potential problems that we can fix before launch! Certain improvements we’ve already made have included bike and weapon balance, the addition of circuits, and input device improvements.
Will old maps be revisited/updated by the time of 1.0 or later?
We plan to take a polish pass at our older maps before 1.0, and to keep an eye on how the community feels about any high or low points in the maps following release.
Will there be some kind of official way of making custom maps?
This isn’t on the roadmap, but is an interesting idea!
How are the developers looking at balance right now? Is it something that is not on the priority list right now, or is the current balance deemed good / okay?
While we track weapon and bike performance, and we’ve gotten some great insights through analytics and player feedback, we’ve been focusing on finishing all of the game’s features and content before getting balance super dialed in. Since Airframe Ultra is a live game, we plan to issue buffs and nerfs where they’re needed, when they’re needed.
Will there be more in depth game settings? What's the current priority for adding accessibility settings?
More in-depth settings are currently in the works! Accessibility settings are also on the roadmap, and we’d love to hear what features are most important to the community.
Will current players lose their cosmetics after EXP and leveling are introduced?
Yes. Players who participated in the beta will earn access to beta racer cosmetics, and players will be able to quickly earn cosmetics by playing the game and leveling up their racer. Flashier cosmetics will come with bragging rights, and our new system will help players customize their racers in more ways than ever before. More details to come!
What does the future of modding support look like?
We’re keeping modders in mind while doing what we can to stop mods from negatively impacting matchmade online matches.
Is it likely that new game modes will be added in the future?
It’s a possibility! We’ve been rebuilt how online/local, matchmade/custom, and public/private matches work, and we’ll see what the future holds!
Will there be community-made Garments?
We don’t have plans to officially support community-made garments, but this project has seen stranger things. So who knows!
