Updates from both Badger and myself. I've been working on the Arcen Xml Editor for a while now, and have been using it in my daily work in Heart of the Machine for a month or so. That tool has now been made fully compatible with AI War 2 and its mods, and also has been made open-source and available on github for anyone to use with these or any other games.

Harmony integration -- the C# patcher tool from Rimworld -- also now arrives in AI War 2. It was surprisingly easy to integrate into HotM, and so I thought I'd also bring that here.

5.810 Changelog

Xml And Modding Improvements

  • Full metadata has been set up for the game so that it now works with the Arcen Xml Editor (AXE), which you can download here if you want to use it for editing xml for the main game or for mods: https://github.com/x4000/ArcenXmlEditor

  • Various minor xml inconsistencies and errors that the new editor detected are now fixed, both in mods and in the main game and dlcs.

  • The xml editor has a spellchecker, and a very small number of spelling errors were therefore fixed.

  • Harmony integration has now been ported over, and works the same here as it does in Heart of the Machine. This guide now also applies to AI War 2: https://wiki.arcengames.com/index.php?title=HotM:How_To_Use_Harmony

  • Updated the external dlls for the game to be .net 4.7.2 for harmony support to work, and also updated all of the live mods to be on that version as well, rather than everything being on 4.7.1.

Forge of Empires

  • Dyson Empire Moons now each have a unique structure. Zenith gets a Mass Driver. Templar get a Matrix Fortress. Neinzul have a Tower of Protection. Spire have a bubble shield. This should further differentiate the moons. Thanks to Ktosiek for feedback

  • Dyson Empire Drilling now grants its AIP uniformly over time, rather than "in one go at the end". Previously this was very cheesable; one could get 90% of the resources from drilling a planet, then just let the drill die so there was no AIP increase

  • Tweak how Dyson hybrids are allowed to build

  • Give the Zenith Moon fewer turrets
