After the Wane changes
Hello everyone!
We are absolutely thrilled to bring you the first major update for the After the Wane demo. Before diving into what's new, we want to say a massive THANK YOU to our amazing community. We’ve officially crossed 2,300 demo players and are closing in on 6,000 wishlists! Your incredible support means the world to us and keeps us moving forward.
This update is a big milestone for the game. We’ve deeply enriched the beginning of the story to make the introduction much more cohesive and immersive. From brand-new narrative scenes and refined dialogues to updated music and visual polish, everything has been tweaked to elevate your experience right from the start. Whether you're playing for the first time or jumping back in, we hope you enjoy this deeper look into Lena's journey!
Story & Narration
Added several new scenes between the intro and Lena's arrival at the capital \(if you were wondering who this "Aurélia" Andrée talked about to was, it will now make sense) \.
Added a small new dialog \between Lena and Arnaud during the audition at the Outpost (triggers only if you've already met Arnaud beforehand) \.
Adjusted the dialog \between Arnaud and Lena when you choose to "follow your intuition" and have a chance encounter with him in front of the Outpost \.
The placement of dialogue and choice bubbles has been refined throughout.
Art & UI
Several illustrations and character art have been updated.
Lena's "thinking" bubble style was updated and refined.
Music & Sound Design
Several music and sound design adjustments were made. Please note that music recordings are still temporarily based on VST instruments for now and will be upgraded to human musician performances in a future update of this demo.
Fixed a mismatch between main menu and in-game audio volume (starting a new game should no longer give you a jump scare).
Under the Hood
Your demo save will now be automatically transferred to the main game (whenever we release it, of course).
Optimizations were attempted for dance animations; they should have a harder time crashing the game on very old hardware.
Very small dialog bubbles are now correctly sized according to their content.
Various small bugs were squashed, and general polish was applied throughout.
