Running the Shop & Haggling 💰 Running a successful shop is about more than just having inventory. We are building a dynamic system focused on a living economy:

  • CustomersVisitors will browse your shop to buy new items or drop off their damaged gear for you to fix.
  • Buy, Fix, Resell: Visitors will also offer to sell you their old, damaged items. You can buy these for a lower price, use your skills to fix them up, and resell them for a solid profit.

  • The Traveling Merchant: Keep an eye out for the wandering trader to stock up on unique materials.

  • Haggling & Displays: We're developing buying and selling mechanics that let you negotiate for the best margins. You'll also manually arrange your items on stands to catch a buyer's eye.

Crafting & Base Upgrades 🔨 To sell goods, you need to make them. We're tying the crafting system directly into your base progression. Deciding what to craft requires resource management, and upgrading your base ensures your production stations run smoothly. Here is a look at some of the core crafting stations we've been working on:

  • Preparing materials at the woodcutting station.Steam post image

  • Working on garments and cloth items. Steam post image

  • Processing materials at the leather station.Steam post image

  • Firing up the oven for processing.Steam post image

  • Working the anvil to fix structural damage.Steam post image

  • Sharpening edges back to their former glory on the grindstone.Steam post image

The Repair System & Minigames ⚔️ Fixing gear isn't just a simple button click. When customers bring in battered equipment, you'll need to use specific stations and complete unique minigames to restore the items properly.

  • Restoring a blunted weapon. Steam post image

  • Carefully straightening out bent equipment. Steam post image

  • Scrubbing down and restoring a heavily used shield.

Let us know what you think of the core mechanics so far in the comments, and don't forget to wishlist the game if you haven't already!

See you in the next update!
