a permanent echo changes
It's finally time to to step out into the world and show a small glimpse of what we have been working on these past months! And what better time than Steam's Cyberpunk festival to do that!
Signups for Playtest now open!
Since this is the first time we are doing a Playtest on Steam, like, EVER, we're currently admitting people after they sign up. Depending on how things go, we might be opening up the Playtest towards the weekend.
This Playtest is not the first time people have tried the game however. We've had some good feedback on our Discord Server.
What's in here?
30-45 min. Playtime (some players have reported taking an hour or more, it depends on your reading speed and joy, really.
Core Gameplay systems - you'll get a good sense of the gameplay systems that will make up the exploration and your detective tools when playing the game.
Setting the stage - you'll be playing the beginning of the story and will get to understand what's at stake.
probably a couple of bugs we were not aware of yet. 👾
What's not in here?
NO OPTIONS MENU yet! So this will run on 1920x1080 for now.
Limited Sound Design and limited Music (courtesy of Epidemic Sound, love those folks).
No Gamepad support yet! It'll be in the Demo and the full version, but we're focusing on Mouse for now.
Please let us know what you make of this Playtest on the Forums! We've vacuumed up, dusted the cupboards and prepared some biscuits...
Your Feedback has impact!
Starting with this year's AMAZE Festival in May, we have been showing a basic game loop to people of the navigation and exploration of a permanent echo - and we did gather a whole lot of feedback that led to some significant re-designs on the interface.
Here's an example of the old Factboard, for example:
This was not the first version, of course, but it turns out that the spaghetti-ness of connecting the different facts looked great on video but was a bit fiddly to use in game. Enter the new version of the Factboard:
it's a different color! It's also much easier to navigate and use. But don't take our word for it, go sign up for the Playtest and see for yourself!
