A Fold Apart changes

Quality of Life Improvements

  • Alternate solutions to puzzles should more reliably work

  • Mouse controls are now more accurate and responsive

  • Diagonal folds are now easier to start with a controller

  • Climbing up and down blocks can now be completed much quicker

  • There is now a significantly shorter delay after unfolding the paper before regaining control of the character, especially when unfolding them to the back of the paper

  • Tutorials can now be closed

  • Papers will now always rotate in the center of the screen regardless of their current size or shape

Bug Fixes

Cameras

  • Puzzle cameras no longer remain active once the character leaves the puzzle

Characters

  • Fixed an issue with the Teacher’s arm in climbing animations

  • Characters no longer get stuck in infinite fall loops after unfolding

Localization

  • Fixed strings in Brazilian Portguese and Arabic that were using an incorrect quotation symbol

  • Fixed a text message in Arabic that was left-aligned

Papers

  • Papers in Chapter 6 no longer clip through the camera when they rotate

  • It is no longer possible to fold over characters

  • It is no longer possible to solve a puzzle in such a way that the character cannot walk out of it

  • Glowing edges will now only appear when input is allowed

Physics

  • It is no longer possible to create a situation where the physics of a level do not align with the visuals

  • It is no longer possible to trigger a star while falling out of a puzzle

  • Significantly reduced the possibility of characters and blocks falling out of puzzles when they are flipped

Pushable Blocks

  • Resolved a potential crash when a puzzle was unfolded with the character standing next to a pushable block

  • Characters no longer teleport or get stuck inside blocks when rotating next to them

  • Blocks can no longer be pushed off ledges

  • Characters can now grab a block that has a one unit space above it

Roadblocks

  • Roadblocks no longer have a chance to permanently lock the Teacher after swiping at them

  • Roadblocks no longer swipe at the Teacher every time the paper is flipped or unfolded

Tutorials

  • The reset puzzle tutorial is now only shown once per play session

User Interface

  • Continue button no longer appears unless there is an active game in progress
