8 Ball Pro Online changes
Chaotic Runout is a brand-new online multiplayer mode for 8 Ball Pro Online, and it throws the rulebook out the window. Forget waiting for your turn. Forget lining up the perfect cue. In Chaotic Runout, YOU are the cue ball - and so is your opponent. It's a real-time, head-to-head race around the table where the only thing standing between you and victory is, well, everything.
Picture a normal rack of 15 balls. Now picture two players, each driving their own cue ball, on the table at the SAME TIME, with no turns at all.
Here's how it plays:
Drive your own cue ball. Hold W to thrust forward, use A/S/D to strafe, and steer with your mouse. A third-person chase camera rides right behind your ball so you're always in the action.
No turns, no waiting. Both players move simultaneously and continuously. The break, the runout, the scramble for the 8 - it all happens live, at the same moment, for both of you.
First pocket decides the groups. Just like 8-ball, somebody gets solids and somebody gets stripes - but here, the FIRST legal object ball anyone sinks locks in the groups. Whoever knocked it in claims that group. The race is on from the very first contact.
Clear your group, then sink the 8 to win. Pocket all your group's balls, then legally drop the 8 to take the match.
Sink the 8 too early and it's instant defeat. Drop the 8 before your group is cleared and you hand the win straight to your rival. Play smart, not just fast.
Scratch and you're frozen out. Pocket your own cue ball and you respawn at your start spot with a short penalty lockout while your opponent keeps racing. One bad bump can swing the whole game.
Grab a friend, head to the Multiplayer lobby, find the Chaotic Runout room, and find out who really controls the table.
And as always, various minor adjustments and fixes have been applied.
Thanks for playing!
