4 Kingdoms Supremacy changes
After several weeks of work, I'm finally happy to announce that the complete rework of Chapters 1 and 2 is finished!
This wasn't just a graphical update or a few bug fixes. It was a complete overhaul of the game's foundation, and I believe it was an essential step for the future of 4 Kingdoms Supremacy.
Why a Rework?
As development progressed, I realized that several parts of the original version no longer reflected the quality or direction I wanted for the project.
Some story elements needed better pacing, several characters deserved stronger personalities, and the overall narrative required a more solid foundation to support the much bigger story planned for future chapters.
Instead of simply moving forward and carrying those problems with me, I decided to rebuild the early game from the ground up.
It was a difficult decision, but one I'm very happy I made.
Story Improvements
Major rewrite of Chapters 1 and 2.
Improved pacing throughout the early game.
Better world-building and stronger narrative hooks.
Expanded lore with improved mystery and long-term storytelling.
New scenes, new dialogue, and improved character interactions.
Better setup for future chapters without revealing too much too early.
Several events have been rewritten to make future plot twists more impactful while maintaining a smoother experience for new players.
Character Improvements
Many characters have received significant personality adjustments to make them feel more natural and memorable.
Some examples include:
Gareth feels more proactive and confident.
Luna's personality has become more expressive and emotional.
Astrid now embraces her playful and teasing side much more.
Elara brings more humor and energy to the story.
Laurie and Lyra have received additional scenes and interactions.
Queen Galadriel has a stronger presence in the overall narrative.
Several supporting characters have also received new dialogue and improved interactions.
New Characters
The rework also introduces brand-new characters and redesigns several existing ones.
One of the biggest changes is the replacement of the old royal wizard with an entirely new character, helping create a much stronger mystery throughout Chapter 2.
New Character Models
Some of the original models no longer matched the visual quality I wanted for the game.
Because of that, several characters received complete redesigns, including:
Gunnar
Freya
These new versions better represent the visual style I'm aiming for going forward.
Gameplay Improvements
The game now includes several new gameplay systems:
Optional QTE (Quick Time Events) during important moments.
Improved exploration.
Better dungeon progression.
New puzzles and environmental interactions.
Better integration between gameplay and storytelling.
The goal is to make the game feel closer to a Fantasy RPG while preserving its Visual Novel roots.
UI & Quality of Life
Several technical improvements have also been made:
New Gallery with scrolling support.
Better Replay Gallery organization.
Various interface improvements.
Numerous bug fixes.
Code optimization.
Improved event flow.
General performance improvements.
Many internal systems were rewritten to make future updates easier and more reliable.
Adult Content
Several romance routes have been expanded with new interactions and additional scenes.
Adult content has also been better integrated into the story so relationships feel more natural and rewarding as they develop.
Looking Ahead - Chapter 3
With the rework finally complete, development can now move forward with entirely new content.
Instead of waiting until Chapter 3 is finished before releasing it, I've decided to adopt a new update model.
The plan is to release Chapter 3 through biweekly updates.
Every two weeks, I'll publish everything that is completed, polished, and fully tested during that development cycle.
This means you'll be able to experience the story as it grows, instead of waiting several months for one massive update.
Because of this approach, I won't be publishing a complete roadmap for the entire chapter. Progress will depend on development, testing, writing, rendering, and polishing.
My priority is always quality over speed.
Thank You
Finally, I'd like to thank everyone who has supported the project so far.
Whether you've been here since the first release or you're just discovering 4 Kingdoms Supremacy now, your feedback has been incredibly valuable.
I truly believe this rework has made the game stronger in every aspect and has laid the groundwork for everything that's coming next.
The adventure is only just beginning.
See you in Chapter 3!
⚠️ Existing saves from previous versions are not compatible with this update due to the extensive story and gameplay changes introduced in the rework. Starting a new game is strongly recommended.
