Kept you waiting, huh?
When I first released the game, there were a lot of missing parts, and I wasn’t able to fully capture the style I wanted to convey.
That's why I tried to reorganize the game's identity and add a lot of new content.
If you’ve been wondering where the updates have been for the past 7, no 8 months, this is the answer.
So what was added?
The game now has three different routes—or, to put it in a way that does justice to its name, three different “paths.” Actually, most of this update was focused on this route section because the game’s total word count has nearly doubled. You’ll see what I mean when you play it yourself.
Each path has its own unique visuals and style. You’re sure to see plenty of new things.
Each route also has its own save system. This way, when you return to that route, you’ll be able to use your previous saves.
There have been changes to the structure of the scenes. I removed some scenes from the first act of the play. I rearranged some interludes or moved them to different places. But overall, the beginning of the game hasn’t changed much.
With the exception of a few secrets, of course.
One of the reviews mentioned that the Aru route didn’t reach the final destination. I’ve made quite a few changes to that section, so I hope the same thing doesn’t happen again.
One person left a negative review and complained that the story was confusing and nonsensical before refunding the game. I think with this update I’ve made the game even more complicated, so sorry about that.
As some of you have pointed out, I’m aware there are spelling mistakes and incorrect words, but there are over 100,000 words in this game, and I can’t keep up with them all. But with this update, I’ve fixed as many as I could find. It will take some time to fix the remaining ones.
If you encounter any other issues, you can describe the problem in the “Bug Report” form linked in the game. Or you can post about it on the Steam Community forums. That works too.
Final Notes
Since the game hasn’t sold well enough and there’s no money, the characters main sprites still aren’t ready, and I’m just as curious as you are about which century that will happen.
The good news is that 3Paths has finally reached the state I wanted it to be in.
I don’t think there will be a major change in style from this point on.
Future updates will, of course, add new content and secrets to the game, but I’d say that with this Path update, 3Paths has finally reached its intended form.
I haven’t done any serious marketing for 3Paths so far. That’s because I felt embarrassed about how incomplete the game was in its initial version. But with this update, I hope the game has reached a point where people will enjoy it and recommend it to others.
If you have any friends who you think would enjoy 3Paths, please recommend this game to them.
I hate my life after this update. So I’m going to take a break and try to get my mental health back on track. I’m tired.
Thank you for all your support, have fun!
