The obstacles ahead have vanished into thin air, and the second stage of the trial has slowly opened amidst the mist.

Delicacies of a hundred flavours, the greed of the palate—these are the delusions born of this middle corpse.

The pleasures of the palate, the enjoyment of flavours—only by severing this gluttonous heart can one continue to journey deeper into the trial.

Deep within the illusory realm, the phantom of the Goddess of Spring appeared once more, flanked by two familiar yet new figures.

The one-armed ancient corpse, having regained its former visage, swung its fists with a howling wind, striking with fierce vigour;

Lan Yan, who had once followed at her side, clearing the way for her, now brandished her blade against her, its icy edge blocking the path before her retinue.

Her former subordinates had now all become obstacles in her path, yet the gulf in strength between them remained insurmountable.

Though her formidable foes had been defeated, the illusory realm did not settle down.

The Corpse Lady felt a twinge of confusion. She clearly remembered that, in her recollections, there was a Mountain God with a profound connection to the ‘Taste’.

Since this illusory realm was capable of summoning old acquaintances to block her path, surely this Mountain God—who was intrinsically linked to the current delusion—should not be absent.

It seemed she had slipped off somewhere to laze about again...
