addedHere are some of the comments I received between Oct 13–16, along with my responses:▇ I couldn’t get past scanning an item. I just couldn’t figure it out. I feel dumb. □ I’m really sorry! I’ll consider adding a SKIP button in the future. Thanks for your feedback.

But the arrow keys make sense too! □ Yes, that’s right! I’ve added a short instruction screen telling players to use the arrow keys. That’s about the best I can do for now, haha. Thank you!

Hello everyone, I’m Miicheer, the developer of Welcome to Chirpvenience!

During this Steam Next Fest, I’ve seen so many people try out the demo, leave feedback, and add the game to their wishlists — thank you so much! I’m really happy that you enjoy this kind of game as much as I do, haha!

The number of wishlists has been steadily growing, and I’ve received lots of honest and interesting feedback.

I’ve read all the earlier comments and promptly fixed the reported bugs and gameplay issues. I’ve already mentioned these updates on Discord and in my dev logs, so I won’t repeat them here — but thank you again for all your feedback!

Here are some of the comments I received between Oct 13–16, along with my responses:

Lovely Game □ Thank you! I’m also doing my best so that more people can play this game!

Really liked the atmosphere of the game, the art style is amazing and charming! Keep the good work :D □ Thank you! I’ll keep doing my best! It’s really not easy to handle everything alone!

I couldn’t get past scanning an item. I just couldn’t figure it out. I feel dumb. □ I’m really sorry! I’ll consider adding a SKIP button in the future. Thanks for your feedback.

There is a space missing in Mr. Security's name after “Mr.” □ I’ll make sure to fix that in the next version. Thank you for noticing and telling me!

An option to choose your gender, so pronouns show up correctly. And maybe better/easier instructions for scanning. □ Actually, this issue doesn’t really exist — the game doesn’t define who “you” are! If that made you uncomfortable, I’m sorry. Maybe it’s a cultural difference, but I wanted to tell a story that isn’t limited by gender or identity — a first-person story anyone can relate to.

Hopefully the checkout interaction can use WASD — I don’t have arrow keys on my keyboard and had to plug one in just to do it. □ I tried to fix this issue for about three days, and honestly, I got really anxious about it. Even after finding possible solutions, the keys still wouldn’t respond properly. I’ll keep trying other approaches — thank you for letting me know! Most players in Asia have arrow keys, so this was the first time an English-speaking player brought it up. I was frustrated that I couldn’t solve it, but I really appreciate that you played and left feedback!

Very cute, cozy game :) □ Thank you! I’m glad I was able to convey the feeling I wanted to share.

Yeah you have to put some romantic stuff though. □ Well… this is an all-ages game!

At first I thought barcode scanning was done with the mouse, since “scanning” sounds like a motion. But the arrow keys make sense too! □ Yes, that’s right! I’ve added a short instruction screen telling players to use the arrow keys. That’s about the best I can do for now, haha. Thank you!

Will there be affection systems or individual character stories in the future? Everyone is so nice, I want to know more about them! Also, the “grabbing the shirt” interaction is super cute lol □ Thank you for your feedback! You’ll find out more in the full version — but Chirpvenience! isn’t a typical AVG game.

The art and music create such a great atmosphere! It’d be nice if eating out could sometimes lead to meeting other staff members. Also, I hope character interactions can go even deeper >< □ Thank you! There actually is a chance to meet them when you go out to eat — but I can’t spoil too much, haha.

2025/10/17 Update

  • Arrow key inputs should now also work with WASD. (The instruction image has not been updated yet.) Please switch your input method to English when playing — otherwise, key inputs may not respond correctly due to how Ren’Py interacts with Chinese input methods. Special thanks to @阿晴晴 for helping find this bug.

  • Added a space after “Mr.” and “Ms.” in the English version. This was a grammatical correction suggested by a player.

  • Added a Special Thanks section. New contributors or volunteers will be added there as well.

2025/10/19 Update

Added a popup in the game to view updated content, etc.(Translation assisted by GPT)

1.Fixed an issue where mobile messages could be skipped; they are now unskippable.

2.When the input method is set to English, WASD and the arrow keys now work interchangeably; tutorial images have not yet been updated.

3.Some English lines are still awkward or incorrect; a volunteer is helping with a second pass, and we’ll roll out fixes gradually.

4.In the Japanese build, character names in the mobile UI remain untranslated due to a technical limitation.

5.The balance between music and sound effects is also limited by current technical constraints; we are still investigating solutions. 6.The Japanese version is not fully proofread yet.

Thank you all again for your continued interest! If you have more feedback, feel free to share it via the form or Discord — I read everything! Wishing everyone a wonderful Steam Next Fest, and I hope you find games you love!
