Greetings, Yokai!
After months of hard work, iteration, and polishing, the time has finally come for another technical playtest!
During our last test, we focused heavily on refining our movement systems and all their intricacies. Since then, we’ve continued improving and polishing both movement and combat to better capture the speed, flow, and feel we want Yokai Tales: Fox to deliver.
Over the past few months, we’ve been working on:
A new character model to improve the sense of speed and movement flow
Reducing the skill floor while increasing the skill ceiling
Smoother movement and animation transitions
Updated movement speed and player inputs
Improved combat animations
The overall flow between movement, combat, and Metroidvania progression
This playtest will help us further test, refine, and balance these systems based on your feedback and discoveries.
Starting May 22nd, we’ll be hosting the playtest through our Discord server, with plenty of keys available, community discussions, competitions, secrets, and much more we’re not ready to reveal just yet...
