Happy November Seikyuians 🍂
We hope you’ve had a very hauntingly good October and that you’re now all wrapped up in blankets sipping a hot beverage whilst the seasons shift. (●´ω`●)
It’s been a minute since we checked in with a diary, but we’ve not forgotten about you; in fact we gave you some nice spooktacular treats for Halloween. Are you enjoying the Cat-O Lantern & The Spirit Lantern Hat? 🎃 We also shared a wonderful timelapse of the new Sasaki Portrait designs by the very talented Liz.
One last thing before we share some more treats for you, don’t forget to tune in to our monthly community Live Streams on the Fireshine Twitch Channel, our next one will be on the 28th of November at 5PM UTC.
And now for the developer updates you’ve been waiting for, let’s dive in first with Festivals!
🥮Tsukimi Festival
Tsukimi (月見) or Otsukimi (お月見), meaning, moon-viewing", are Japanese festivals honoring the autumn moon, a variant of the Mid-Autumn Festival. We are so excited to bring this to Tales of Seikyu in the future.
Here’s a little peek at some of the work in progress concept art of how this may look in Seikyu:
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Tsukimi Festival Concept & Mood Board
As always these are work in progress sketches and designs so the final look may differ from what we are showing you at the moment.
Also, to make this festival Seikyu unique, we’ve added something special. For one night only you’ll be able to interact with five yokai masks, each giving you the power to transform into that yokai for the duration of the Tsukimi festival. Just our way of adding a little more mystery. And perhaps this opens up some opportunities to get to know a villager you haven’t spoken to as much? (◜௰◝)
🦇The Noble Alin
We’re so excited to share a little more about the designs we’ve teased before around Alin! Alin will arrive in Seikyu alongside Uwabami as they are very close friends. Alin is a vampire with many yokai companions (like his umbrella spirit, box, and cane) and carries himself with an air of elegance.
For his design, we first sketched 3 different concepts, discussed them within the team, and even shared the concepts with the community to get their thoughts on the designs.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Three concept sketches of Alin’s Initial Design.
Since the game is set in the Shōwa era (era name used during the reign of Emperor Shōwa from 1926 to 1989) where many yokai wear Western clothing, we decided that as a noble-born vampire, Alin should wear a traditional Japanese kimono instead. It looks great on him doesn’t it? (´ ω `♡)
Even small details, like whether he should wear glasses, sparked passionate discussions between the team. We really hope you adore his final look as much as we do. ❤️
And to finish up why not have a little peek at his elegant suite?

🐈 Pets & Adoption!
This is something we know you’ll all absolutely love because it’s also something we are super excited about, you will be able to adopt Pets in the next update! ~( ˘▾˘~)
Animals will start wandering in Tales of Seikyu and it means you can approach them and get to know them through showing affection and giving them treats. As you raise the affection levels you will increase the likelihood of the animal wanting to come
