It’s been a while since our last update, but we’ve been busy working on the core features of STARHOME. Our focus right now is on building the vertical slice - a milestone that will showcase all the key systems working together. Every day we’re getting closer, and today we’d like to share a sneak peek at one of the gameplay phases that has evolved the most in recent months.
Travelling Phase – Faster Than Light Journeys
The galaxy is vast, and choosing the perfect landing spot for your fleet is no easy task. Planning your destination is just the beginning - the journey itself is a challenge you’ll need to master.
While travelling between star systems, you’ll be responsible for keeping your crew and passengers alive and your ships operational. This means:
- CosmeticSupplying essential resourcesfrom food to metals - to keep everyone fed and your fleet maintained.
Constructing key structures aboard your ships to ensure safety, efficiency, and readiness for whatever awaits at your destination.
Managing your growing fleet and population so that you arrive stronger, not weaker, than when you departed.
Run out of supplies or neglect maintenance, and you might find yourself in… let’s call it an uncomfortable situation.
What’s Next
We’re approaching the point where we can begin internal playtests. Once we’ve gathered feedback and made improvements, our next step will be closed community playtests - where you’ll have the chance to help shape STARHOME into something truly special.
