Ten years? TEN YEARS!
You've read it right: Schwarzerblitz is now a decade old! Development started in May 2016. Here's a relic of that time, featuring my old defunct laptop too in my Heildeberg room =P
The game has gone a long way since that point, reaching the form we all (?) love today! It's not a perfect game by any definitions and there is a lot that I could have improved - if it weren't my first 3D game at all.
All in all, it was a wild ride, one that allowed me to become the developer I am today. I have no regrets, except not having Started With Online In Mind (sob). Nevertheless, this game will always remain in my heart.
Back in 2016 I started making Schwarzerblitz as a way to survive my PhD times. I couldn't expect it to become the success it has been.
So, to celebrate this now old boy, I'm holding One Last Fan Art Call for the in-game gallery!
