changedHey there, Roundabout crew! We've just pushed live an update that fixes a bunch of bugs and improves performance across the board. Some highlights include:
changedPerformance Improvements! . We completely rewrote our culling system, making it more ruthless and less lazy about what it's drawing. It runs at twice the CPU speed of the old culler, and reduces what the GPU has to draw by a similar amount in best cases - which also improves your CPU time as a bonus. Short answer: things are faster. We also optimized a ton of other stuff: pedestrians, sound usage, terrain detail drawing, and more. As a bonus, you can even turn off weather using the "terrain details" toggle in options, too.
fixedResolution Upgrades . The version of Unity we shipped on was terrible about handling fullscreen resolutions. If you ever had to delete your resolution.settings file or experienced a black screen, you experienced this firsthand. Thankfully, our pals at Unity have fixed all these problems, and we've upgraded to take advantage of them! We've also got some fixes in for the AMD 5650/5700 driver crash, and a potential fix for people playing on non-60hz TVs at fullscreen.
changedeSports Polish . We're super excited to see the enthusiasm about eSports Speedrun Mode, so we put a bit of extra time to make things silky smooth here. You can skip the intro movie, the initial hitch after the timer finishes should be almost invisible, and the culler can now handle the speeds at which some of the fastest eSports drivers compete at.

  • ...and more!. There's a ton of smaller tweaks we've snuck in too - fixes for typos, some minor grass painting tweaks, pickup placement for those hard to reach cash stashes, and some other fun things.
