The protagonist of this game, Miyamoto Musashi, is a man who will use anything at his disposal, even his surroundings, to secure victory. When fighting in a traditional Japanese room, he might tear up the tatami mats beneath him and use them to block attacks or hurl at his enemies. Yet despite his willingness to use whatever means are necessary, Musashi believes that relying on the “Power of Oni” is the wrong path and is determined to cast off his gauntlets. At first this may seem contradictory. However, for Musashi, who seeks to master the way of the sword through his own refined strength, his pride will not allow him to depend on the power of Oni. Even though he appears to use anything to win, there is one line he will never cross: he must win through his own strength.
