I'm Rhomita, the developer of Notmads, and I want to share an important update.
Notmads will launch in Early Access this May. The exact release date will be announced soon.
The game will launch with a strong foundation from day one, including a fully explorable first island and the core systems in place.
Early Access is just the beginning. After launch, development will continue with updates, improvements, new content, more quests, visual upgrades, and ongoing polish.
The current demo will be removed on April 30th.
Originally, it was planned to stay up for one week after Steam Next Fest, but since many of you kept playing, it remained available for a few extra weeks.
I’m really happy with how it went. Even though it wasn’t a custom-built demo experience, many of you spent hours playing it and discovering the game.
What’s even more exciting is that the demo didn’t include some of Notmads’ core systems—like building on top of the beast, crafting, and stations —and still, so many of you connected with it.
Since then, the game has evolved a lot thanks to your feedback. Some of the improvements include:
Reworked enemy AI for more engaging combat
Improved beast behavior in early stages
Adjustments to the beast’s size and movement to avoid frustrating situations
A complete rework of the loot system
And many more changes
These improvements are not part of the current demo, which is why it no longer represents the experience I want to deliver.
If I find the time, I’d love to release a new demo after Early Access—something designed specifically to showcase the game in the right way.
