Hello again, Ninjas!

We know it’s been a while - a really long while - since our last update. We owe you an honest apology: we had to step away and put Ninja Simulator on pause for some time. But a few months ago, we returned with renewed energy and a completely fresh vision. Today, we have a ton of exciting updates to share.

Restart

We went back to the drawing board. When we restarted development, we wanted to create something fresh, bold, and most of all fun.

The core concept? We’re taking the tension and thrill of classic stealth games, dropping it into expansive, varied maps, and sprinkling in a heavy dose of roguelike mechanics. We want every single playthrough to feel unique, even if you’re just replaying a mission to earn more rewards.

The Twin Scrolls

At the start of each run, you’ll be presented with two randomized skill sets that will dictate your playstyle. You have to choose one.

Imagine having to choose: do you take the path of the unseen assassin, utilizing "x-ray" vision and traceless stealth kills so you never have to hide a pesky body again? Or do you for example take the path of agility, using double-jumps to scale high walls and vanishing skill to disappear into thin air to snatch high-value resources?

The skill combination will be randomized every time you start a run. You make your choice and pick a set, grab a quest from the main story campaign, and the infiltration begins.

Dynamic maps

While on a mission, you'll also be given smaller, randomized side objectives. In one run, you might earn bonus gold and experience for taking out specific enemy types. In the next, you might be challenged to remain completely undetected from start to finish.

Also the enemies will change - we are experimenting with randomized sets of enemies that you will encounter to make every run feel fresh.

Along the way, you'll also stumble upon mysterious Sacred Statues... but we’ll save that secret for the next devlog!
