Power over Spirit

Psyche is the Nightborn Entitlement concerning the Power over Spirit. The Nightborn Lineages with Psyche in their Inheritance are the Bruxo, Draugr, Dracul, and Ruthven. Psyche’s Legacies are Telekinesis, Authority, and Artifice, Psyche’s Magic.

Telekinesis

Telekinesis is the Nightborn’s ability to physically move objects with their sheer will. While Vampire’s are physically stronger than humans, they may also push their minds beyond mortal understanding. Telekinesis powers are useful for mobility, combat control, and utility for puzzles and stealth.

  1. Grasp – Pull an object to equip it, flip a switch, or draw in an opponent.

  2. Levitate – Float slightly about the ground, moving without sound while not setting off some types of alarms or traps.

  3. Thrust – Blast back opponents and objects in an area.

  4. Soar – Take limited flight for rapid mobility and strategic positioning.

  5. Seize – Hold an opponent in the air, choking them as long as they are held.

Authority

Authority allows a Nightborn to infiltrate others’ minds, reading their thoughts, and implanting commands. This results in an unnerving feeling in the target, as if they are being watched and puppeted from within. Authority include powers to read others’ thoughts, command them to take actions, or even overwrite a target’s personality.

  1. Gaze – Lock eyes with a target, stunning them and allowing the Vampire to read the target’s mind as if they were speaking.

  2. Nothing – Use on an alerted or hostile target to make them forget they ever saw you.

  3. Terror – Show the target visions of their death, causing them to flee in fear.

  4. Confuse – Target become hostile to everyone and may take other actions as well.

  5. Allegiance – Completely erases a person and replaces their mind with total servitude to you.

Artifice

Artifice is Psyche’s Magical Legacy. Magical Legacies require both blood costs and consume a spell component item. Artifice’s spell component is Faerie Bones. Artifice spells project illusions, alter magic, and empower other spells. Artifice is sometimes referred to as Meta Magic, the Phantasmal Arts, or Chicanery.

  1. Phantom – Create an Illusory decoy with distracts enemies until they investigate. May be improved to taunt and take attacks.

  2. Empower – Has not effect of its own. You next magic spell cast (of any Legacy) will have an improved effect.

  3. Masquerade – Change your appearance to that of the target. May be improved so you have the target’s voice and mannerisms as well.

  4. Aegis – Surround yourself with magical energy which will negate the next hostile magic effect. Improve to negate all hostile magic effects while the shield lasts.

  5. Simulacrum – Use on a Phantom to make them a real fighting ally. Empower to make the Phantom a duplicate of yourself with matching stats.
