Thank you to everyone who has played Night Clerk and shared feedback. Many players told us they wanted more reasons to explore the motel and uncover the story behind it. This update focuses on expanding the mystery and giving players optional ways to piece together what really happened.
New Investigation System
• Added hidden clues and inspectable objects throughout the motel • Players can now discover pieces of the story by exploring rooms • A new discovery progress tracker shows how much of the story has been uncovered • Clues persist across playthroughs so players can gradually piece everything together
Environmental Storytelling
• Added new items that can be inspected, including personal belongings, documents, and other remnants left behind • Objects are placed across rooms and the office for players who choose to explore • Some clues only appear under certain circumstances
Expanded Interactions
• Drawers in motel rooms can now be opened • Additional objects and locations can now be investigated • Exploration is now a more meaningful optional activity during the night shift
Atmosphere & Immersion
• Adjusted certain character dialogue to better hint at the motel’s history • Added new environmental details throughout the motel • Improved subtle narrative cues to help players connect events
General Improvements
• Various polish and small improvements across the game • Minor bug fixes
