First of all: we haven’t disappeared! Even if we’ve been a bit quiet lately (sorry about that 😅), we’ve actually been working harder than ever behind the scenes. During the holidays we really pushed development, and this new Playtest build includes massive improvements across the whole game.

Thank you, as always, for your patience and for all the bug reports and feedback, they truly guide our priorities every day.

✨ What’s new in this update

This version focuses on stability, smoother controls, better tutorials, and core systems rework.

  • Reduced loading times.

🎥 Camera

  • Different zoom speeds for keyboard and mouse wheel;

  • Smoother movement and navigation;

  • Better focus on selected objects.

📖 Tutorial Overhaul

  • Reworked to be clearer and fully guided;

  • Fixed multiple softlocks and broken steps;

🆕 New Features

You can now:

  • Prevent invalid placements automatically (animations coming soon!)

🚻 Smarter AI Behaviors

  • Customers correctly use toilets;

  • Added queue system and waiting logic;

  • Better navigation overall.

💾 Save System – First Version!

This is a big milestone for us 🎉

The first implementation of the Save/Load System is now working in Sandbox:

  • Save rooms

  • Save props

  • Save employees positions

  • Save customers

  • Save wall & floor colors

  • Save money, time, and movie schedules

  • Profile loading from menu

  • Scene reload after saving

More polish is coming, but it’s finally here, but we are working on a better UI for the saves page!

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Mission Manager issues

  • Mission UI refactor

  • Particle & projector crashes

  • Props destroyed correctly with rooms

  • Multiple Sandbox & historical level fixes

  • Many stability improvements

🚀 Early Access News

We also want to share something important. Besides development, we’ve recently found support for our pre-launch release phase, which is helping us move forward more safely and sustainably. Because of that, and because we want to ship a stronger version - Early Access will move to March 4th (instead of February 10th). But in February, you will see many advertisements and streamers playing Movierooms!

Why the delay?

We want to include:

  • 🎭 Special Mission 1900 featuring the story of the first French woman projectionist

  • 🔔 A proper notification/warning system

  • 🧩 UI improvements

  • ✏️ Clearer texts, objectives, and equipment details

  • Extra polish and stability = Basically: a better and more complete experience on day one.

💜 Always... Thank you 💜

We know we don’t always communicate as often as we’d like, we’re a small team and sometimes we get buried in development, but please know that we’re fully committed to Movierooms every day.

Your feedback, patience, and support mean the world to us.

Huge improvements are finally visible, and we can’t wait for you to try this build.

👉 Update your Playtest and let us know what you think!

See you soon, Mad Pumpkins Team 🎃🎃🎃
