Hello Riders,
We hope you’re all doing well! We have just released version 1.4.210 on all platforms. This patch mainly consists of two parts:
We have updated the game to Unity 6 (the game engine that we are using). Although it was quite a lot of work, this shouldn’t actually come with any noticeable differences, but it is an important update as it will allow us to further maintain the game in the future. In case you notice any new bugs or differences, it would be much appreciated if you let us know.
Secondly, the patch includes a lot of improvements for the Steam beta in-game level editor, ranging from path handling, different day and weather presets, to a lot of smaller UI improvements.
If you’re playing on Steam and haven’t checked out the editor yet, now is a perfect time. There are already a whole bunch of really, really amazing community maps that you can play! All you have to do is check out the beta branch on Steam.
Right-click on Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders in your Steam Library, select Properties… Navigate to Game Versions & Betas and select the public level editor version. The game will update, and when you start it, you can now select the level editor in the start menu. You can also subscribe to user levels in Steam Workshop and play them in the trail menu.
As a level creator, you can now also update your levels with custom thumbnails! To update the thumbnail, you have to add a screenshot in Steam Workshop and afterwards reupload your level. The workflow isn’t perfect, but improving it will take more time.
Last but not least, we have also published a new tutorial series for the level editor on our YouTube channel, starring our Level Designer Juan. Please welcome him and let us know if you feel the videos are helpful and what we can improve.
