The debate between "real" and "virtual" physics is as old as FPV simulators themselves. Rather than relying on subjective "feel," we want to be transparent and show you exactly how we use objective, data-driven validation to bring our drones to life.
With the introduction of the Realistic System framework, we have transitioned to a purely data-driven workflow. We aren’t just aiming for what "feels" right—we are building digital twins that match the laws of physics as recorded in the field.

The Workflow
Every Orqa drone undergoes a rigorous data-driven process to ensure maximum correlation between the field and the simulator:
Field Data Acquisition: Recording high-stress maneuvers to capture raw physical behavior.
Field Data Extraction: Retrieving high-frequency telemetry directly from the flight controller for ground-truth performance data.
Realistic System Injection: Feeding physical parameters—weight, motor curves, and drag—into our framework to create a precise digital twin.
Simulation Optimization: We use side-by-side video validation to fine-tune the model, optimizing the drone’s behavior for the "ideal" conditions of a virtual environment while maintaining 1:1 realism.
What truly sets us apart from other simulators is our access to a massive, legally cleared airspace where we can test real drones to their absolute limits. This continuous stream of real-world flight data ensures our physics engine will only keep evolving and becoming even more accurate over time.
Developer Note:"Fine-tuning" is a polite way of saying we spend hours obsessing over the tiny differences between a real motor's thrust curve and a digital one until they are indistinguishable.

Analysis
We’ve successfully matched real-world drone behavior in our simulator, achieving an impressive 92% overall accuracy using real flight and video data. What’s even better? We hit this high mark without even factoring in wind conditions, proving our core physics foundation is incredibly solid.
Here is how the data breaks down:
Vertical Flight (Altitude): A stunning 98% match. Throttle punch-outs and free falls feel exactly like the real thing.
Horizontal Flight (Momentum): Our simulated flight paths are extremely close to reality. We are actively using this data to perfectly fine-tune the subtle feeling of weight, momentum, and aerodynamic drift.
Moving forward, our standard is clear: we aim to consistently keep our physics within that 90-100% accuracy sweet spot to give you the ultimate immersive flight experience.

Upcoming Release
We aren't keeping this new level of immersion locked in the lab. We are excited to announce that the very first drone utilizing this enhanced, highly validated physics model will be arriving very soon.
