“DARK RITUAL”
A complete reboot of the world. A new era of horror begins.
I have completely reworked the game, not just added content, but reimagined its very core. Everything has been rebuilt from scratch with a focus on atmosphere, intuition, and tense co-op gameplay. All thanks to you and your feedback.ːsteamhappyː
🔹 New lobby - minimalist, styled like classic horror. Intuitive, fast, and without unnecessary loading screens. The old 3D lobby has been temporarily sent back for major rework.
🔹 Three new locations - each with its own unique story and mechanics:
— Abandoned Hospital (dampness, silence, hidden wards),
— Modern Hospital (sterility, electronics, sudden malfunctions),
— Victorian Mansion (ornate decor, shadows, deadly silence).
🔹 Ritual system - the central gameplay element. Collect keys, cursed items, summon the nun sisters, and try to survive this nightmare!
🔹 New bots - smarter, more aggressive, with adaptive behavior: they remember your actions, hunt by sound, and change tactics depending on the number of players.
🔹 Death is no longer the end - if no one revives you in time, you turn into a rat: you can scurry through corridors, hear what is hidden from humans... and help or sabotage your friends.
🔹 Two new characters:
— Lady Krampus, a cold-blooded guardian of the boundaries between worlds.
— Mirelli, a wanderer from forgotten legends. Her storyline is already in development.
🔹 New mechanics:
— Throwing a cross or a stone now stuns enemies, bringing strategy instead of chaos,
— The flashlight is always at hand (F), no inventory, no delays.
— Thunderstorm - a living weather system: lightning lights up the locations, thunder masks footsteps, and flashes disrupt visibility.
— Emote system, dances for the character, and emotes for the rat. (By default, press "T")
— Ritual system on the "Victorian Mansion" map
🔹 Updated tutorial:
— The tutorial can now be completed together with friends (up to 5 players)
— Localization has been added, along with fixes to the existing one
— Hints, action descriptions, and interaction explanations have been added
🔹 What has been removed for rework:
— Mask and bat: temporarily removed so they can return in the next update stronger and more fitting.
— Dungeon map: it will be reworked and a new mechanic will be added.
— The 3D lobby that the first players saw, colorful and interactive, will return later after I make it clearer for newcomers and add new mini-games so waiting for players is not boring.
🔹 What appeared instead: new items to explore, screamers with well-designed trigger logic, rewritten voice lines, improved localization, and a settings menu that now works as it should.
🔹 What is planned next, besides your feedback (In development):
— New bots and unique mechanics for each of them
— Build a team for large-scale updates, feel free to write in the Discord channel!
— New maps from different eras
— A separate inventory for throwable items and weapons
— Puzzle and riddle systems
— Dedicated server, so co-op does not depend on the host and there is less lag
— Storylines for each character, showing how their fates are intertwined. — Localization into other languages
The rest of the new features will continue to be added in every update!
I also actively listen to reviews and feedback about the game, both personally and on my Steam profile, and I try to fix things as quickly as possible. Since I am working alone, I do it as fast as I can. Thank you for your understanding!
