Hi everyone!

The past months of testing and community discussions made something very clear: if we want Dfiance to reach the quality it deserves, we need to rebuild our foundations. Today, we are announcing the largest development shift since the project began.

1. Dfiance is officially moving to the Unity engine

This is a major technical decision aimed at the long-term health of the game.

Unity allows us to:

  • significantly improve stability,

  • optimize performance,

  • expand gameplay systems faster,

  • achieve better visuals,

  • maintain and update the game more efficiently.

This migration is the cornerstone of the new Dfiance.

2. A Kickstarter campaign is coming soon

Rebuilding the game properly – with stronger systems, better art, and improved production – requires additional funding.

The Kickstarter will help us:

  • expand the team,

  • accelerate development,

  • create new content,

  • execute a polished relaunch,

  • secure the long-term roadmap.

We will announce the launch date soon.

3. We have begun talks with potential publishers

Our goal is to give Dfiance a stable, supported future. A publishing partner can help with:

  • funding,

  • promotion and outreach,

  • platform expansion,

  • a stronger release strategy.

We will share more when the negotiations progress.

4. The next 6 months: rebuilding the foundations

Here is what we will focus on:

  • engine migration & full system cleanup,

  • UI/UX improvements,

  • new technical architecture for long-term development,

  • improved balance and gameplay clarity,

  • new Steam visuals, key art, trailer and descriptions,

  • consistent devlogs and transparency,

  • community testing cycles,

  • preparing the relaunch version of Dfiance.

This is not a small patch - this is a restructuring phase aimed at delivering the game you expected from the beginning.
