We hope you're okay! We have a brand new update for Dead in Antares today, bringing balancing, especially for the combat, some QoL, and bugfixes!
Balancing
Counter (battle mechanic)
Porcupine Limadiodon won't give Counter to units that already have more than 4 Counter anymore
"Spiky Mutation"battle passive (only on enemies): +1 Counter at the end of the turn -> +1 Counter at the end of the turn if the character has less than 6 Counter
"Reactive Defend"battle passive: +2 Counter when Defend is used in front Row -> +1 Counter when Defend is used (in any row)
"Sharp Reflexes"battle passive: +1 Counter when changing row -> +1 Counter when moving to the front row
Health during battles
William's power surge"Medical Emergency": Restore 6 Health -> Restore 4 Health and +2 Block
Lowered the chance to receive a Wound depending on remaining Health.
Also lowered the first Wound threshold: remaining Health over than 90% -> 75% cannot inflict a Wound.
Max injury after a fight: 20 -> 18 (24 -> 22 for higher difficulties)
All Capsule battle items now have +2 health restored
All battle items are forged in bigger quantities: 4/8 -> 8/16
Enemy Progression changes
Enemies encountered far from the Ixion will be a little stronger than before.
"Survival" and "Last Chance Mission" difficulty only: Enemies difficulty depending on days passed is a bit more impactful than before.
Tribute
Decreased by 10% tribute quantities for forged items
QoL
After talking to NPCs and being able to Barter/Socialize with them, their map description will include their preferred intermediary as well as a vague summary of their bartering. Note: unfortunately this QoL is not backward compatible, meaning, you will have to talk to an NPC again to enable this new description for them.
Added a tooltip for the Mercy counter during the tribute phase
Bugs
Fixed an issue where the battle skill tooltip for a battle item was not displayed in the forge
Fixed an issue where the tutorial for the end of an expedition was displayed too soon
Fixed an issue where the William and Gabriel relationship dialogue was available before their story event
