It’s been a little while since the last update!

Lately, most of my time has been focused on the Nintendo Switch port. It’s coming along really well, and I’ve learned a lot about optimization, loading times, and performance along the way.

The biggest challenge has definitely been load times. Early on, the game took around 60 seconds just to reach the main menu, which obviously wasn’t acceptable. I’m happy to say that it’s now down to about 3 seconds, which feels smooth and natural with the current transitions.

With that hurdle out of the way, the remaining work is getting everything fully prepared and polished for release. If things continue like this, I’m aiming for the Switch version to be ready in about a month (but dont mark my word for it.. doing the best possible here to make it move as fast as possible).

PC Update

While most of the focus is on Switch right now, I’ve still pushed a small update on PC today:

  • Increased spawn rates for Critterlings, so you’ll see them A LOT more often

  • Fixed a naming issue where two items were both called “Face Cream” (one is now correctly named Fancy Cream)

I’ve also noticed that the game size has been slowly increasing with updates. I’ve identified the cause and will be fixing it soon to keep the game lightweight and small, as intended.

What’s Next

Once the Switch version is live, I’ll bring many of these optimizations back to PC as well.

As always, your feedback has been incredibly helpful in shaping the game, so thank you to everyone who has shared thoughts, bugs, and suggestions so far.

New Game: Critter Tactics

I’ve also started working on my next game, Critter Tactics. It uses the same art style but focuses on auto-battler combat, inspired by games like Teamfight Tactics, designed as a solo experience (for now).

If that sounds interesting, it would mean a lot if you could wishlist it on Steam:
