Battlefield 6 kicks off a whole new era of high-intensity combat. Whether you are battling in intense infantry firefights, attacking enemies in jets, reviving teammates in the heat of battle, or driving a tank through a collapsing building, this is all-out warfare like you’ve never seen it before. Welcome to the world of Battlefield 6.
Here’s everything you need to know before you deploy, and what to look forward to when you hit the frontlines for the first time.
World of Battlefield 6
The year is 2027. The world is on the edge of chaos. After a high-profile assassination shocks the world, major European countries have left NATO, while the US and its allies grapple with the fallout.
A massive private military corporation with no fear, deep pockets and the latest tech, looks to fill the power vacuum. This army is Pax Armata.
What’s left of NATO is wounded and battered. But the remnants have formed a hardened alliance determined to put an end to this threat.
Welcome to Battlefield 6.
Single Player Campaign
Battlefield 6 includes a nine mission global-scale single-player Campaign following Dagger 13, an elite US Marine Raiders unit tasked at stabilizing NATO against a Coalition led by Pax Armata.
We highly recommend new players - as well as all players interested in Battlefield 6’s lore - to play the Campaign first before jumping into Multiplayer or Portal experiences.

Multiplayer
Following the events of the Campaign, Battlefield 6’s Multiplayer showcases NATO and PAX Artmata in an all-out, near-neverending war:
Play as NATO: As key European powers withdraw from NATO, the world is left more unstable than ever before. The United States, the United Kingdom, and Egypt are here to defend what’s left, with an army of soldiers driven by duty and honor.
Play as PAX Armata: This shadowy coalition is ready to capitalize on disruption, aiming to usurp the United States as the world’s leading superpower. Pax Armata is a massive private military corporation with deep pockets, the latest tech, and no government red tape. They are hellbent on using this once-in-a-generation opportunity to seize power.
In Multiplayer, you will be placed into one of these two factions as your team. However, you will always have the choice to pick a far more important role: your class.
Choose your class
Battlefield’s class system, encouraging you to fulfill a specific role in the fight, is back. New to the system are training options that unlock additional traits that are earned in battle, rewarding those who play the objective with an active ability to help turn the tide of war.
Battlefield 6’s deep customization system allows players to arm themselves with any weapon for any situation, but each class shines when you take advantage of signature weapon sets that lean into your class role.
For those who wish to play with closed weapon loadouts, the option will be easily accessible in official playlists with full XP progression available.
Here is an overview of each class, with a dedicated guide to each class found within the full Battlefield 101 Onboarding Hub:
