- UI and audio
- Performance
- Gameplay
- Maps
This is a large update that breaks saved game compatibility, so if you do have a old save game and still want to play it can change branches to 'Old Demo' branch. We definitely don't don't plan to break compatibility once we release to early access.
Also - we'll be showing Astromine at BitSummit in Kyoto Japan this year! If your there let us know.
Some major changes:
Complete tutorial + crafting overhaul. Less grind, quicker and streamlined. The enemy robot bases are also now there from the start.
Larger planets
Mining Tool now extracts from planet. Gathers Soil and Stone. Soil can be refined into into Silicon, Stone into Iron.
Automation: Can now connect stations together to automatically transfer between them. Power Auto Extractor stations beside plants/trees to continuously extract from them.
Completely new UI
Start sequence of crash landing onto planet
Lots of new buildable objects: Charcoal Kiln to generate coal from biomass, vehicles are now built on a Vehicle Station, Steel Smelter to create steel from iron and carbon
Boring Laser: For digging large holes into planets. It's also the only way to mine 'Titanium' now on Terra at north and south poles.
New Chip upgrade system: Now earlier in tutorial/craft sequence. Chip upgrades are now permanent upgrades given to the player who crafted them. Upgrading Extractor Tool size+power is now the first upgrade and part of tutorial.
Enemy bases now have a 'core' which starts a nuclear explosion on destroyed
New voxel data structure. For those of you interested in voxels, we did a large change how we store voxel data by moving to Brick Maps for quicker planet generation and loading.
Better Guide menu. Now has details on all craftables / materials, with wiki-style links between the pages.
Controls overhaul. Changed Map to M, Inventory to Tab, added shift clicking for easy inventory management.
Support for Epic Games Services online multiplayer (alongside Steam)
